Standing Rock Game & Fish ~ Update
Wednesday, October 20th, 2022,
Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Game & Fish Department collaborating with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) released 28 ferrets on their reservation in the state of South Dakota.
Tribes have been instrumental in bringing the black-footed ferret back from near extinction. This reintroduction highlights the importance of federal funding for Tribal natural resource departments through the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA) on projects involving threatened and endangered species.

39th Annual National Shoot Competition 2022
Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Game & Fish Staff participated in the Competition Shoot for CLEOs team to compete against other rangers from the Southeast, Southwest, and Great Lakes Regions. Jeff Kelly and Larry Brown Jr made the team for Great Plains Region in National Shoot at the 39th Annual Native American Fish & Wildlife Society National Conference in Miami, FL
