SRST Head Start Hiring

Standing Rock Head Start program is seeking to hire (3) individuals who are 18 years and older willing to work with the Head Start maintenance department. Service Policy Agreements will be up to 4-6 weeks to work on the following:

-Cutting Grass
-Painting
-Assist with putting wood chips on the playground
-Fixing fences
-Cleaning Gutters
-Light digging and shoveling
-Cutting down tree branches
-Moving equipment over 25 pounds

The Standing Rock Food Distribution Program will be starting our home deliveries on August 5th, 2024.

We are welcoming all 60+ elderly/handicapped/home-bound clients to give our office a call to get your orders issued.

Admin Building Moderate Lockdown

The Security Team has received threats of gun violence to the SRST Housing Authority and Admin Building, and we are going into a state of Moderate Lockdown. Please keep all office doors closed and stay in your offices for the time being. All staff and civilians are asked to only enter and exit through the front door and only as necessary. Thank you for your cooperation.

All centers will be open August 26th 2024 as all center employees will report to their respective centers.

 

All Staff Pre-Service August 27th -29th 2024 TBA

 

First Day of School Monday September 9th 2024

 

Last Day of School for Head Start April 30th 2025

 

Cultural Awareness Day “Honoring our Children who will be transitioning to Kindergarten” April 30th 2024

 

Head Start School hours: 8:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Friday

 

Early Head Start Center Base School Hours 8:00 am to 4:00 pm there is a 9:00 am cutoff

All Head Start, Early Head Start and Home Base will be implementing Teaching Strategies and Creative Curriculum

 

Age Eligibility:

 

Home-Base Program ages 6 months to three years’ old

Early Head Start is 6 weeks to three years old.

Head Start Program: Ages 3 years old to 5 years’ old

 

Ongoing Recruitment and Registration for all returning and new students will continue throughout the year, cutoff to enroll children will be 45 days prior to the last day of school.

 

Registration Requirements:

 

Complete annual application, attach Birth Certificate or any document that will verify age, updated immunization record and verification of Income.

 

Transition for 0-3 years old begins six months prior to third birthday.

The Miss Standing Rock Pageant will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 @ 1:00 pm at the Kenel District building.

The Deadline for the application is August 16, 2024 at 4:30 pm.
APPLICATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED FROM ALL ELIGIBLE AND INTERESTED CANDIDATES AND ARE AVAILABLE AT YOUR DISTRICT BUILDINGS AND THE COORDINATORS. There is no limit to the number of entries from any district. The pageant officially begins after the luncheon and all contestants must be present to pre-register by that time.
There will be a panel of (4) judges for the pageant. Selections of the Miss Standing Rock 2024 will be based on appearance, poise, Indian characteristics, scholastic interest and dedication to the advancement of the Indian people of Standing Rock. Selections of the Miss Standing Rock 2024 will be based on the qualifications stated in the criteria. The judge’s decision will be final. The coordinators are not judges for the contest; they are only there as designated representatives for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and pageant. Contestants (other than the winners) who have previously entered the contest are cordially invited to enter again provided they still meet the qualifications.

In the event that Miss Standing Rock can’t fulfill her duties, the first attendant will make appearances in her
place.
